Do you find yourself typing the same thing over and over again? Like your email address, or maybe a phrase that you use often.
Theses items can be assigned to just a few digits which when typed, will be replaced with the full text.
Tip. Create a keyboard shortcut so that you only have to type a couple of characters and the system will offer to fill in the full text.
Example. I have created a shortcut for my mailing address. If I type “hh” , the system prompts me with “Headed Home” in the same place where it normally displays a single word suggestion. This comes in handy when I want to let my wife know I’m headed that way.
HowTo Procedure. Go to Settings –> General –> Keyboard –> Text Replacement
Shortcut – enter the short code you will use to call up the text. ( “hh” in my example )
Phrase – enter the phrase you want to replace the short code with. (“Headed Home” in my example )
Settings
Now, the next type you enter the characters in the “Short Code”, your device with replace it with the full phrase. This works in every application that I have found so far.
Enjoy!!!
